Porthill Alf Wires Field in Summerside; Four Drivers Hot at Charlottetown

Summerside, PE – Porthill Alf and driver Marc Campbell pounced to the lead from post 8 and never looked back as the pacer, owned by Marvn Webster of Tyne Valley, toured the Summerside oval in a blistering 1:58.4 to win the Sunday afternoon feature race.
The Duane MacEachern trainee turned back Best of Life and Whos Smiling Now for the victory. It was the second winner of the day for Campbell who turned 25 years old on Saturday.
Gauloise Duharsas, who was sent away as the betting favorite, rewarded his backers with a solid performance to win the Lorne Yeo Memorial for driver Brian MacPhee and owner Frank Banks, Summerside. The seven-year-old mare, trained by Elton Miller, won by a length in 2:02.2
MacPhee, Gary Chappell and Norris Rogers had multiple winners on the day.

Four Drivers Dominate Race Card at Charlottetown

Charlottetown, PE – Four drivers dominated the race card Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Gary Chappell, Kenny Arsenault, Ken Murphy and Ron Matheson recorded driving triples on the 14 dash card.
Arsenault drove Yankee Sun to a 1:59 score in the feature event. The winning horse is owned by the BM Stable of New Brunswick and recorded his 13 win this season when he beat BL Crusier and Olivia Hall.
Racing returns Saturday the CDP at 1pm while Summerside hosts their final card of the season on Sunday. Post time is 1pm.
