Nomination Deadlines Approaching for Summerside Racing Events

Summerside, PE – Harness Racing PEI is gearing up for Lobster Carnival week harness racing events at the Summerside Raceway from July 12-18th with a full slate of events for Island horseman.

 

Nomination deadline is Wednesday July 8 at 10am for the late closer for Fillies and Mares. Eliminations will be held on Sunday July 12 and Monday July 13 while the Consolation and Final will be held during the Governor’s Plate program on Saturday July 18.

 

Meanwhile, the nomination deadline for the ½ mile Sprint Series is Friday July 10th at 10am.

LATE CLOSER FOR OPEN FILLIES AND MARES

Open event for fillies and mares aged 3 years old and older.

No allowances for age. To be raced at Summerside Raceway.

Nomination Date: Wednesday, July 8, 2009 @ 10:00 am

Nomination Fee: $125            Starting Fee: $125

Elimination            Sunday, July 12, 2009             $2500

Monday, July 13, 2009             $2500

Consolation            Saturday, July 18, 2009             $2750

Final                        Saturday, July 18, 2009             $3500 (added)

 

1.      Nominations due Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 10:00 am.

2.      Minimum of 14 nominations required to fill this series.

3.      The top eight (8) money earners plus ties from the eliminations will race in the final.

4.      There must be a minimum of six (6) entries for the consolation. In the event that there are fewer than six (6) entries, HRPEI reserves the right to cancel the consolation.

5.      Stable entries may occur during the eliminations; however, not more than one declaration will be accepted for horses owned by the same person, or management, in the final.

6.      Purse shall be divided according to the Harness Racing PEI standard:

a.       5 or more starters: 50 – 25 – 12 – 8 – 5%;

b.      4 starters: 50 – 25 – 15 – 10%;

c.       3 starters: 60 – 30 – 10%;

d.      2 starters: 65 – 35%;

e.       1 starter: 100%.

7.      Race conditions will be governed by the rules of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission and Standardbred Canada.

8.      All races will be at a distance of 1 mile unless otherwise stated.

9.      Post positions for all events will be drawn by the Standardbred Canada Electronic Draw.

10.  Should any unforeseeable conditions prevent the racing of any or all events, Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to carry races to future race date approved by MPHRC, or all monies paid will be refunded.

11.  Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to refuse any nomination, return fees, rearrange programs and in the event that on the day of the scheduled race, the operation of races cannot be held for any reason whatsoever, they reserve the right to reschedule the race to an approved future race date or cancel it in which case all monies paid will be refunded.

12.  Harness Racing PEI Inc. accepts no responsibility or liability for any accident, loss or damage, which may occur on their property as a result of these, or any races.

13.  All owners, trainers, drivers must be members in good standing with the MPHRC and Standardbred Canada.

All horses must meet the qualifying standards of Harness Racing PEI Inc.

 

 

 

THE ½ MILE SPRINT SERIES

For aged horses, geldings and mares 4 years old and above, non-winners of $301 (Fillies & Mares $351) as of July 1, 2009. No allowance for age. To be raced at SRW.

All races to be contested at a distance of ½ mile.

Nomination Fee: $50                      Starting Fee: $50

Elimination            Tuesday, July 14, 2009            $1000

Final                        Saturday, July 18, 2009            $1500 (added)

 

1.      Nominations close Friday, July 10th, 2009 at 10:00 am.

2.      All events will be conducted under the rules and regulations of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission and Standardbred Canada.

3.      All races will be at a distance of ½ mile.

4.      Post positions will be drawn using the Standardbred Canada Electronic Draw.

5.      Purse shall be divided according to the Harness Racing PEI standard:

  1.  
    1. 5 or more starters: 50 – 25 – 12 – 8 – 5%;
    2. 4 starters: 50 – 25 – 15 – 10%;
    3. 3 starters: 60 – 30 – 10%;
    4. 2 starters: 65 – 35%;
    5. 1 starter: 100%.

6.      Declarations close at the time and date posted on the weekly condition sheet.

7.      Nomination fee must accompany all nominations.

8.      Harness Racing PEI Inc. requires twelve (12) separate betting interests to start in any event or it may be cancelled.

9.      Horses with highest earnings in elimination races will compete in the finals. The final will be limited to six (6) horses. In the event that one of the highest money earners fails to declare, the next highest money earner will be eligible for the final. In the event of starters eligible for the final with equal money earnings, they shall be drawn by lot. In the event enough money winners fail to declare for the finals, starters in the series that are not money winners may declare for the finals to constitute six (6) separate betting interests and such entries will be drawn by lot.

10.  Declarations close at the time and date posted on the weekly condition sheet.

11.  Nomination fee must accompany all nominations.

12.  Payment for nomination fees must be in Canadian funds only.

13.  Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to reject any entry and return entry fee, declare off any event if conditions warrant, call off any event not filling satisfactorily and place entries in their eligible class if entered incorrectly.

14.  Should any unforeseeable conditions prevent the racing of any or all events, Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to carry races to a future race date approved by MPHRC, or all monies paid will be refunded.

Horses must meet the qualifying standards of SRW.
