New Horses Arrive on PEI

Charlottetown, PE – Island race fans will be introduced to a number of new equine athletes during Thursday night’s race program at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre. Post time is 7pm.
Five horses have been entered to race with three of them making their debut in race 6.
Emblem Seelster, owned by Alan Macdonald, Charlottetown, draws the rail with Luck for Betty leaving from post 4 for new owners Wendell and Robbie Shaw, Summerside, PE while Cape Tryon, a new purchase by Eric Johnston, Summerside, will test out the fast surface from post 6. Emblem Seelster and Luck for Betty have been established as morning line favorites in the event.
Lar Go Jet, who has been touring Ontario locations like Grand River, Flamboro Downs and Woodstock, comes in from the Garry MacDonald stable of Rockton, Ontario. The seven-year-old gelding is now under the care of Stacey Lund. Cargo Carrier is another newcomer for owner, trainer and driver Steven Murphy.
JJ Solara and A Bit Like Brit make their first lifetime starts in race 2. The two-year-old fillies won their qualifiers while Tasha MacKenzie, Stratford, will watch her two-year-old colt, Student Loan, debut for Ken Wilkie in race 5.
Rebelryan is the morning line favorite in the Thursday night feature for driver Walter Cheverie and trainer Kevin MacLean. He’s coming off an impressive victory taking a one-length victory in 1:56.2. The field also includes Southview Angie with Danny MacDonald, 29, PH Super Dave and Dylan Andrew, KG Affair with Terry Gallant, Pans O Silver and Brian MacPhee, Royal Millennium and Jason Hughes, Feel Ideal with Alex Sobey and Victory Creed for Brian Andrew.
Racing returns Saturday with a 7pm post time. The card features the Canada Games Pace and the second draw in the Countdown to the Cup $50,000 prize pool.
