Harness Racing PEI Sports

Charlottetown, PE – The stage is set for another exciting night of racing with Mighty and Strong, owned by Patrick Morris of Charlottetown, landing on the pylons in the evening feature event at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time is 7pm. Customers can once again experience the outdoor paddock on the tarmac in race 4.

The $2,400 division is packed with talent including CL Eighty, who finished second to Proven Lover last week in 1:55 flat. Vince Poulton gets the call to drive from trainer Kenny Arsenault and has to maneuver from post 6.  Pans O Silver is the morning line favorite and for good reason. The Alex MacPhee owned pacer finished fifth in the Governor’s Plate but was charted in 1:54.2. His lifetime record is 1:55.3. Brian MacPhee is back in the bike from post 4.

Blue Star Outlaw has back to back winning performances and draws post 2. The newcomer, trained and driven by Jason Hughes, will make his 19 start of the season but only his sixth on PEI since arriving from the Ontario circuit for owner Donnie MacRae of Vernon Bridge. The line-up also includes Riccaras Sun with Mark Bradley driving for trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Kenny MacInnis while BJ Cruiser, out of the Charles Belliveau stable of N.B., has the services of Corey MacPherson.

The open trotters, which includes our track trot record holder Dusty Lane Shelby, will line up on the wings in race 6 the third leg of the Pick 6 contest.

Instant Fancy is the early favorite in the Image Works pace in race 7 while Huey’s Boy gets the nod in the late Pick 4 and Pan Cushion is listed as the classifiers choice in race 12 dubbed Wild Horses. The new promotion has a Jackpot tied to the matching triactor ticket.
