Lokata Hall Wires Field in CDPEC Feature
Charlottetown, PE – Lokata Hall, with Walter Cheverie in the bike, flew off the starting gate from post 8 and wired his contenders in 1:56.2 in the Saturday night feature at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre.
Cheverie co-owns the pacer with John Thompson, Charlottetown. It’s the second win in a row for the son of Cambest after his big win the James Roach MacGregor Memorial consolation race during Old Home Week. Pans O Silver, under the command of Brodie MacPhee, also left the gate hard to secure the pocket trip through splits of 28.1,58.1 and 1:27.4 and hold on for second while Chris MacKay’s new purchase Best of Life was third for driver Gary Chappell. MacKay of French River is the trainer.
Frazier Blue Chip won the back-up class for driver Mark Bradley in 1:58.2. Bradley found racing room late in the stretch to grab the victory by a quarter length for owners Jim Quinn, Vernon Bridge and Darlene Compton, Belle River. Hunters Green owned by Kevin MacLean, Vernon River was second with Rustleinthevines, trained by Clark Smith, took the show spot for driver Ken Murphy.
Walter Cheverie had a driving triple on the night while Gary Chappell recorded a driving double.
Racing returns Wednesday to the Summerside Raceway at 7pm featuring the Mildred Williams International Driving Series for the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.
