1. Nominations due Monday, June 14, 2010 at 12:00 pm.
2. All events will be conducted under the rules and regulations of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission and Standardbred Canada.
3. All races will be raced at a distance of one mile unless otherwise stated.
4. Purse distribution:
a. 5 or more starters: 50 – 25 – 12 – 8 – 5%
b. 4 starters: 50 – 25 – 15 – 10%
c. 3 starters: 60 – 30 – 10%
d. 2 starters: 65 – 35%
e. 1 starter: 100%
5. Post positions will be drawn using the Standardbred Canada Electronic Draw. Declarations close at the time and date posted on the weekly condition sheet.
6. Nomination fee must accompany all nominations. Payment for nomination fees must be in Canadian funds only.
7. The Final Event will be limited to 8 horses when there are 2 eliminations or legs, and 9 horses when there are 3 eliminations or legs. All finalists are according to the highest money earnings in the series. If one of the finalists fails to declare in for the final, the next highest money-winner declared in will become eligible to the final. If the number of horses tied in money earnings for the last eligible starting position increases the field size to more than 8 (9 where applicable), they will be drawn by lot to constitute an 8 horse field.
8. Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to reject or accept any and all nominations and/or declarations. All nominations are subject to Harness Racing PEI Inc. rules and policies at time of racing. Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to cancel any event or series at any time.
9. If there is more than one division of the preliminary legs or eliminations, each division will race for 100% of the advertised purse.
10. Nomination fees will be added to the Final Event. Those nominating horses to these events are responsible for eligibility.
11. Should any unforeseeable conditions prevent the racing of any or all events, Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to carry races to future race date approved by MPHRC, or all monies paid will be refunded.
12. Horses must meet the qualifying standards of CDPEC.
13. In the event that there is a consolation, horses that earn enough money in series to qualify for the finals cannot race in the consolation. In the consolation or final, should there be horses with common ownership; Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to uncouple horses for pari-mutuel purposes.

3. The top eight (8) money earners plus ties from the eliminations will race in the final.
4. There must be a minimum of six (6) entries for the consolation. In the event that there are fewer than six (6) entries, HRPEI reserves the right to cancel the consolation.
5. Stable entries may occur during the eliminations; however, not more than one declaration will be accepted for horses owned by the same person, or management, in the final.
6. Purse shall be divided according to the Harness Racing PEI standard:
a. 5 or more starters: 50 – 25 – 12 – 8 – 5%;
b. 4 starters: 50 – 25 – 15 – 10%;
c. 3 starters: 60 – 30 – 10%;
d. 2 starters: 65 – 35%;
e. 1 starter: 100%.
7. Race conditions will be governed by the rules of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission and Standardbred Canada.
8. All races will be at a distance of 1 mile unless otherwise stated.

12. Harness Racing PEI Inc. accepts no responsibility or liability for any accident, loss or damage, which may occur on their property as a result of these, or any races.
13. All owners, trainers, drivers must be members in good standing with the MPHRC and Standardbred Canada.
14. All horses must meet the qualifying standards of Harness Racing PEI Inc.

1. All events conducted under the rules and regulations of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission, Standardbred Canada and Harness Racing PEI Inc.
2. Nominations close at 3:00 pm (AST) on Monday, August 9, 2010. All horses declaring into race must be in by Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11:00 am.
3. The draw for the eliminations will take place Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 12:00 pm.
4. All races will be contested at a distance of one mile unless otherwise stated.
5. All starting positions shall be drawn electronically using the electronic draw system provided by Standardbred Canada, except the final which shall be drawn by lot.
6. Purse distribution:
a. 5 or more starters: 50 – 25 – 12 – 8 – 5%;
b. 4 starters: 50 – 25 – 15 – 10%;
c. 3 starters: 60 – 30 – 10%;
d. 2 starters: 65 – 35%;
e. 1 starter: 100%.
7. The nomination fee must accompany all nominations. The Gold Cup and Saucer nomination fee is $500. The $350 starting fee is due one-hour prior to post in the elimination.
8. There will be no starting fee for the consolation or final.
9. Payment for nomination fees, starting fees and supplemental nomination fees must be in Canadian Funds only. All fees must be made by certified cheque, bank draft or money order and made payable to Harness Racing PEI Inc.
10. Harness Racing PEI Inc. requires six (6) separate betting interests to start in any event or it may be cancelled.
11. Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to reject any entry and return entry fee, declare off any event if conditions warrant, call off any event not filling satisfactorily and place entries in their eligible class if entered incorrectly.
12. Should any unforeseeable conditions prevent the racing of this event, monies paid will be refunded.
13. Should any unforeseeable conditions prevent the racing of any or all events, Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right to carry races to a future race date subject to MPHRC approval, or all monies paid will be refunded.
14. All horses shipping to the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre must have a Negative Coggins and Equine Herpes Vaccination. The Racing Secretary shall require proof of such test. All horses shipping into Prince Edward Island must have current health certificates.
15. Horses must meet the qualifying standards of Harness Racing PEI Inc.
16. There is no retention barn for the eliminations. All horses entered into the final shall be in the retention barn at 2:00 pm on the day of the race.
17. Those nominating horses to these events are responsible for eligibility. No refunds will be made for ineligible horses.
18. If more than ten (10) horses are declared in to start, elimination races (trials) will be contested.
a. If there are sufficient entries for two trials, they will be held on Saturday evening, August 14 and Monday evening, August 16, 2010.
b. If there are sufficient entries for three trials, they will be held on Saturday evening, August 14, Sunday afternoon, August 15 and Monday, August 16, 2010.
c. If there are sufficient entries for four trials, they will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 14, Saturday evening, August 14, Sunday afternoon, August 15 and Monday evening, August 16, 2010.
19. Horses eligible for the Gold Cup and Saucer final and consolation are not eligible to race in overnight races during Old Home Week.
20. Declarations for the consolation and final will close at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
a. If only two (2) elimination races are required, the top four (4) official finishers from each elimination will race in the final of the Gold Cup and Saucer. The two horses finishing fifth will be drawn by lot as to determine AE1 and AE2.
b. If there are three (3) eliminations, the first three (3) official finishers in each elimination will advance to the final.
c. If four (4) eliminations, the top two (2) official finishers in each elimination will race in the final. The also-eligibles will be drawn by lot from the four (4) third place finishers. Horses that are listed as also-eligibles for the Gold Cup and Saucer will be programmed in the consolation race but will retain the right to start in the Gold Cup and Saucer final if there is a horse(s) drawn.
21. Harness Racing PEI Inc. accepts no responsibility or liability for any accident, loss or damage, which may occur on the property as a result of these races.
22. In the consolation or final, should there be horses with common ownership; Harness Racing PEI Inc. reserves the right (as per MPHRC rule 208) to uncouple horses for pari-mutuel purposes.
23. A nomination for this event is an agreement to all the above terms and conditions.
