Charlottetown, PE – Fleet Officer has drawn the rail in the afternoon feature Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time for the 14 dash card is 1pm.

Fleet Officer moves up to take the on the top class after his second place finish last week for trainer David Rose and driver Marc Campbell. The six-year-old takes on some tough customers including Pans O Silver, who’s been part of the triactor in his last three starts, and fan favorite Yankee Sun. Tanks A lot, Island Jazzystar and Mighty and Strong are real threats too. Lakota Hall got some draw luck and lands on post four for driver Walter Cheverie and his co-owner John Thompson, Charlottetown. With some relief in post position, Lakota Hall is listed as the morning line favorite at 5-2. Race analyst Les MacIsaac is also behind him. It’s a guessing game with this guy so it could come down to the trip he gets,” said the host of Racing Tips in the race program. “He’s more than capable of beating these if he puts his mind to it so we’ll take a shot that today is the day.”

Three horses on the program will put their winning streaks on the line. Betterpayattention, owned by Frank and Melissa Banks, Summerside, has won his last two starts but will have to go the distance literally. The Elton Miller trainee will compete in a ten horse field in the 1 mile and 5/16 pace for driver Earl Smith. Pan Cushion goes for his third straight in the afternoon’s 7th race. Norris Rogers, who drove three winners last week, gets the driving assignment from trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Jordan Hicken while trainer Paul Holmes of Cornwall has Electric Moves in top form. The pacer is off to a perfect start in 2010 for driver Mark Bradley. Bradley and Rogers are tied in top spot in the driver’s standings with four wins after two race programs in 2010.

Hopedale Last Bill is favored to win the trot class with Big Sid and Gus Handsum, who looked much smoother last week in his qualifier, listed as top three contenders.
