CL Eighty Wins CDP Feature; Big Night for Chappell

Charlottetown, PE – CL Eighty held off a late charge by Beauty Spur, with Michael McGuigan on the bike, over a rain slicked track rated good with a three second variant to win the Thursday feature in 2:01.3 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Kenny Arsenault, who had two winners on the card, did the driving for owner Vincent Hickey, Scoudouc Road, N.B. McHales Gravy was third for Danny MacDonald.

Island Jazzystar recorded the fastest mile of the night putting in a rock solid 1:59.4 score for driver Corey MacPherson.

Sanberg, with Keith Ford in the bike, won the Bell-Aliant Pioneers pace in 2:01.1 for owners Douglas Neill, Charlottetown and Ben Matheson, Winsloe. Red Man A was second with Longworth Midnight finishing third.

Pick Up Point took the trot class for Kenny Arsenault and owner Dave Ratchford, North Sydney, N.S.

Triage won her second in a row for driver Gary Chappell, trainer Stacy Lund and owner Ron Cobb of Kensington. Lund sent out three winners last week at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway while her regular pilot, Chappell, drove four winners on the rainy night.

Racing returns Saturday at 1:30pm and Sunday at 1pm with all the action being carried on the Bell-Aliant Race Day show.
