Atlantic Sire Stakes in Fredericton

Three-year-old pacing colts and fillies will find their own way to celebrate Canada Day as they gather at the Fredericton Raceway on July 1st for Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action.
“We have traditionally hosted the three-year-old fillies and colts on July 1st and it has always been our biggest card of racing for the season, attracting large crowds of race fans,” says Brent Briggs, General Manager of the Fredericton Raceway.
“The Atlantic Sires Stakes fillies and colts are always a great draw.” Briggs adds.
Tuesday’s racing card includes two A divisions of pacing colts going for a purse of over 13-thousand dollars each. Meanwhile there will be three A divisions of fillies racing for almost 9-thousand dollars each.
A full slate of Atlantic Sires Stakes races will takes place at seven racetracks in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island this year. The racing series has been showcasing some of the best young horses in the region for over forty years and it culminates with the season ending Atlantic Breeders Crown championships, which take place this year at the Charlottetown Driving Park in October.
